Judge Leyden Commends Community On Completion Of Project
TENAFLY— More than 3,000 persons passed through the Municipal Center between 1 and 5 P. M. and about 150 of them gathered at the Center's east mall at 2 P.M.for formal dedication ceremonies of the building.
Principal speaker at the half hour ceremony was Superior Court Judge J. Wallace Leyden. He spoke on the family as the unit of the community structure and the municipality as the unit of the government structure.
He termed Tenafly a town of outstanding people and said that the Municipal Center was truly a monument to them. The Center, he said, is a great climax to the efforts and work of the town officials and residents.
EXPRESS PRIDE
Other speakers expressed prided in the $1.2 million center, and said they were grateful that the sun was shining for the outdoor ceremonies.
With the conclusion of benediction, offered by the Rev.James McGill to the Mt. Carmel R. C. Church, the rains came. By that time, though, residents were touring the building.
