Tenafly Dedicates Center-Library Sunday

TENAFLY — Residents of this borough will turn out en masse Sunday afternoon for the dedication of their new Municipal Center and Public Library.

County and town notables from the entire area will join in the ceremonies.

Tours will be conducted from l to 5. The actual dedication will be at 2 o'clock.

Superior Court Judge J. Wallace Leyden will be the principal speaker. The invocation. will be given the Rev. Henry Powers rector of the Church of the Atonement and the
benediction by the Rev. James McGill, Pastor of Mt. Carmel R. C. Church. The pledge of allegiance will be led by Guy AlcKellop. Jr. and Frank Forte, commanders of the DeWitt Coleman Post 167, American Legion, and the Frank J. Holden Post 4701, V.F.W.. respectively. Former Mayor E. Merrill Seaberg. chairman of the dedication committee, Mayor Willard B.Knowlton, and R. Worth Vaughan. vice-president of the Library Board of Trustees, will speak briefly_ Rabbi Irwin M. Blank.. of the Temple Sinai of Bergen Count, will offer a special prayer prior to the dedication address by Judge Leyden.

The Tenafly senior and junior high school bands will play special music from 1:3O to 2 p.m. Members of the Boy and Girl Scouts will distribute dedication programs. In addition to Mr. Seaberg other members of the dedication committee are: former Mayors Howard W. Booth. Clifton S. Fleet, Stanley D. Cattelle, Emerson C. Church, Robert H. Gasch. Sylvester G. Farnham, Richard DeMott, and Amos M. Kidder. Also R. Worth Vaughan, vice-president of the Library Board of Trustees; Police Chief Chester B. Campbell, Fire chief. Hoag, Superintendent-Dr. John B. Giessnger, Knowlton.
