The Tenafly Free Library Association,
1913.

THE officers of the Tenafly Free Library Association, feeling very gratified with the results of the work of the Association, as shown by the reports given at the annual meeting for the year ending May, 1913, desire to present a summary of the facts as follows:

During the year 138 books were presented to the Library which, with new books purchased, made a total number of additions of 581 volumes. The total number of books now in the Library ( exclusive of the School Library) is 1,718. There are 447 borrowers, and the total circulation of books during the year was 8,676. The income from books (pay fiction and fines) amounted to $122.00 which, with the dues from paying members, the proceeds from various entertainments, and the balance from 1912, made the total receipts $335.00. Of this amount $293.00 was used to pay the running expenses of the Library, including heating, lighting, and care of the building and grounds, the purchasing and repairing of books, and the salary of the librarian, leaving a balance of about $40.00 in the treasury.

The Association has 90 paying members, the $1.00 per year dues including the privilege of taking out an extra book of fiction on the same card, and of voting at the meetings of the Association. The building Fund now stands at $1,777.50. In order to secure a pledge of $500.00, a total amount of $3,500.00 must be raised, leaving a balance of $1,722.50 still to be obtained.

The Library is open on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons from 2.30 to 5 o'clock, and on Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9 o'clock; also on Thursday afternoons for the school children.

The following officers will serve for the coming year.

President-Mrs. A. V. Huyler.
Vice-President-Miss L. F. Pond.
Secretary-Mrs. W. H. Rhodes.
Treasurer-Mrs. Jas. Westervelt.
