Library Enters New Era
The moving of the Tenafly Free Public Library into its new quarters at the Tenafly Municipal Center — to a building that has been designed to meet the needs of the future as well as the present, and to answer all the problems of the public as well as the staff in connection with library use as well as operations is a means of great satisfaction to us as well to the entire community of Tenafly.
For many years the Tenafly Library Board of Trustees have been working toward the opening date for the new facilities — on Monday, March 11 — and for them this will be an occasion for special rejoicing. Their united concern for the development of the best possible library for Tenafly through the years has, at long last, provided services of which the entire community may be proud. The efforts of the Mayor and Council toward this end, when the Library Board's own financial attempts were not adequate, are also praiseworthy in this connection.
Tenafly may well be pleased with the new library facilities. Its reading rooms, its varied new offerings will add greatly to the cultural aspects of the community in the years to come. The new Community Room at the Library, which has already been pressed into service, should prove a boon to the many community organizations
which have supported the library and municipal center program, providing as it does a public meeting room for gatherings of all kinds.
While on the subject of the municipal center, we feel there should be some adequate large sized signs for the benefit of the public so that they won't have to wander around too long trying to find their destinations. This would be desirable both at parking lot entrances, and inside the buildings.
